MLB in League with Vatican to Extend “Angels & Demons” Promotion
Anaheim, CA & Vatican City (Sportsman’s Daily Wire Service) Major League Baseball, Sony Pictures, Entertainment Weekly and the Vatican today announced that their popular “Angels & Demons” promotion has been extended through the rest of the 2009 baseball season. As with the popular original promotion, fans who can verify they are Free Masons, Illuminati, Knights Templar or card-carrying Republican National Committee (RNC) members will receive 50% off admission to all remaining California Angels’ and San Diego Padres’ Sunday homes games. Each discounted admission ticket comes with messages of hope and repentance from His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and his Camerlengo and each evil fan gets an invitation to be baptized by California’s Cardinal Roger Mahony via an anointed sprinkler during the 7th inning stretch of the game.
MLB Commissioner Bud Selig stated, “We’ve long felt that the “evil secret society” demographic has been neglected by the major sports and we want to mine this passionate group with our sister organization, the Catholic Church.”
As with the original promotion, Sony Pictures will film the baptisms for an Entertainment Weekly-produced special hosted by Tom Hanks to debut on Easter Sunday, 2010. The blockbuster special will be simulcast on the MLB Network and the popular CTV Vatican Television Center network (www.vatican.va).
