Supporting Tiger: Arnold Palmer Slams Rascal into IHOP During Early Bird Special
What a Rascal. Arnie slammed his Rascal adult scooter intentionally in support of Tiger Woods.
ORLANDO (Sportsman’s Daily Wire Service) Golfing legend Arnold Palmer has recently found himself defending fellow golfer and friend Tiger Woods after Woods’ single car crash opened the flood gates and subsequent media storm on the world’s top golfer’s personal life. Yesterday, he ratcheted up that defense.
“It’s unfortunate,” said Palmer. “Personally, I don’t think there’s much of a story here. But in an effort to divert some of the attention away from Tiger, I have actively taken things into my own hands.”
The eighty year old Palmer crashed his RASCAL® adult scooter into a local IHOP restaurant during the early bird special. No one was seriously hurt during the incident, although Palmer may have slightly bruised his hip.
“I wanted to do something spectacular at around 2:30 in the morning, just like Tiger. When I do solidarity, I do solidarity.” added the Hall of Fame golfer. “But sadly, I couldn’t find my glasses and my night driving really blows. So instead, I chose to do something during the early bird special in broad daylight.”
The plan worked as Orlando area residents are buzzing about the incident. There are already whispers that Palmer may have pulled the stunt to impress seventy-four year old IHOP hostess Wilma Carter, who witnesses say Palmer seemed very friendly with.
As many as seven area restaurant hostesses say Palmer frequents early bird specials and apparently turns on the charm.
“Arnie is something,” said 68 year old Steak N’ Ale hostess Connie McNulty. “His gentle humor and that twinkle in his eye can really get the juices flowing in an old broad like me. Plus, he leaves one hell of a tip.”
