Dwight Howard Bones Up on Chekhov as He Considers Trade with Nets

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (Sportsman’s Daily Wire Service) The New Jersey Nets are one of the rumored next destinations of Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard, where he’d be playing for owner Mikhail Prokhorov, a 6-foot-7 basketball fanatic and the richest man in Russia who recently announced he will challenge Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for President. While he is known for his lavish lifestyle, Nets players knew little else about the billionaire playboy before he took over the team last year. According to sources, several have reached out privately to Howard to give him tips and insights into understanding their flamboyant, if enigmatic, owner.
“I took intro to Russian literature sophomore year,” said Nets center Brooke Lopez, a Stanford grad. “Professor said that to understand Russian soul must read Anton Chekhov, as work reflect both bathos and exuberant comedic aspects of Russian character.
