Roos or Ruse? Cole Hamels isn’t quite sure.

PHILADELPHIA (Sportsman’s Daily Wire Service) Known as one of the top left handers in the game, pitcher Cole Hamels is one of the few bright spots in an otherwise forgettable 2014 Philadelphia Phillies season. With a solid statistical season nearly behind him, Hamels is the odds on favorite to win Biped of the Year. Carlos Ruiz Impresses Hot Girl in Seat 18, Row 7, Section 122 by Catching No-Hitter

"I'm Getting Laid Bro!" an exuberant Carlos "Chooch" Ruiz whispers into the ear of Doc Halladay, author of the second no hitter in post season history.

PHILADELPHIA (Sportsman’s Daily Wire Service) Carlos Ruiz, better known to teammates and fans as Chooch, has reason to smile. Arguably the team MVP in 2010, Chooch caught Roy Halladay’s perfect game earlier this season in Miami on May 29th, and now has the distinction of catching Halladay’s post season no hitter.

“It’s nice we won and all, but the beauty part is I impressed this smokin’ hot babe in section 122,” said Ruiz after the game. “I kept walking out to the mound just so I could walk back and get a look at her fabulous titties. When we got the no hitter she was smiling at me like I just landed on the moon or some shit. I think I’m gonna get laid later. I love this game.” (more…)

They even upgraded at second base by obtaining Manny Trillo.  Their ticket to the World Series was punched, right? Wrong. (more…)

A Night to Remember. Roy Halladay walking to the mound in the ninth as captured from my iPhone.

MIAMI (Special to TSD) I’ve been a baseball fan for thirty-five years.  In those thirty-five years I’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen my team win two World Series and lose three. I saw my boyhood idol, Mike Schmidt club four homers in one game. I’ve also suffered through some of the leanest years any fan would care to endure. We are talking of course about the Philadelphia Phillies, who now may be enjoying their second golden age, but were the doormat of the National League East for years.  And years. (more…)
